About the Event
Maria Guevara Biography: Maria Guevara, born in Mexico, boasts a diverse educational background with a Bachelor's degree in Art Conservation and a Master's degree in Archaeology. In the summer of 2013, she graduated from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design with a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Ceramics.
Maria's creative journey revolves around ceramics, where she crafts captivating forms using both the throwing wheel and porcelain slabs. Her artistic finesse comes to life as she adorns these pieces with colorful engobes and employs the intricate Sgraffito technique for carving.
In addition to her traditional methods, Maria has recently ventured into alternative decoration techniques such as Mishima, employing underglazes. Her true artistic passion lies in the realm of design and decoration with clay, where she skillfully combines various decorative techniques to achieve imaginative and illustrative surfaces.
